Church Safety

Church safety is crucial for ensuring the well-being of all attendees and maintaining a secure environment for worship and community activities. Effective safety measures protect against potential threats, accidents, and emergencies, allowing congregants to focus on their spiritual and communal experiences without concern.

This includes implementing protocols for fire safety, first aid, and security, as well as creating a welcoming atmosphere where individuals feel safe and valued. By prioritising safety, churches can foster a sense of trust and peace among their members, enabling them to engage more fully in worship and fellowship while safeguarding their physical and emotional health.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is the practice of protecting individuals, particularly vulnerable groups, from harm, abuse, and neglect, ensuring their well-being and safety within the community. It is important that you tell us if something is upsetting you, or if you are feeling worried about something that's happening, or something somebody is doing. We have specially trained people who you can talk to, and who you can ask for help. These people are good at safeguarding.

Caring for people is an especially important part of our Christian life and if you think someone maybe being harmed, or in danger of being harmed, please do contact either :

Reverend Alistair Ward on 07932 937950 : email at elloestone@gmail.com. OR

St. Mary's Parish Safeguarding Officer: Mrs Mairead Smith on 07796 467459 or by email stmaryswhaplodesafeguarding@outlook.com

However, If you would like to speak to someone outside of the Parish then please contact the Diocese of Lincoln safeguarding Team on 01522 504070 or e-mail safeguarding@lincoln.anglican.org.
